Anna has been devastated by a war an alien species called the Gothe'maran have started. They slaughter entire towns looking for women, and Anna's was no exception. When they burst into her home and killed her husband and child, she was so over come with grief that she couldn't defend herself when they pointed their guns at her. While they tried to see if she was fertile, the leader and supposedly the worst of the lot came in and saved her. She wasn't so sure that she wanted to be saved, but when she saw Kahn a new nightmare began. She became obsessed with seeing him again, and to that end volunteers at the war front as a nurse two years later.

Kahn has been sent to clean up the mess a rival faction of his people has made on earth. They were never supposed to conquer a world like this, and in his culture the way this has been done is an enormous shame. When he comes upon some rebels getting ready to kill Anna, he saves her in the nick of time. Not only because it was the right thing to do, but because he felt a connection to her and knows that she is going to be his destined soul mate.

Forbidden has a lot of action and romance that kept me on the edge of my seat until I was done. I really liked Anna and the fact that she is strong enough to take on whatever comes her way, but is willing to admit that sometimes it's almost impossible. That's why I was rather surprised that she would fall for Kahn as she did, but because they are destined and all the things that go with that, I think it made it impossible for her not too. Kahn is definitely a misunderstood character at first, and after a while I learned to like him as much as any character in the story. The sex in the story is passionate and hot; you can almost feel how much they need each other. I was captivated by this story, and will be looking for more from this gifted author.
