| Doctor Marisa Langston is the Junior Doctor aboard the
Commission ship, she is engaged to it’s commander,
Peter, but very attracted to his best friend and
second-in-command Bradi Janelle. There is something
strange about Bradi; although rumored to have slept
with more women than physically possible, he avoids
his physicals and inoculations. Whenever Marisa tries
to scan him, she gets a terrible headache. She
finally gets him in the exam room, and shortly after
he kisses her, different from his usual joking passes,
the ship is attacked and they end up in the same
escape POD headed for the Planet Margaidia, only they
don’t end up on Margaidia, but it’s sister planet
Sargaidia, the home of the paranormals evicted from
Earth years before. It is Bradi’s home planet, and
both he and Marisa are more than they seem. Marisa
doesn’t even know everything that happened in the POD
on the way to this strange place. Bradi, however,
knows that she is his true mate, is pregnant, and
might be in danger from the evil vampire Stegian, and
possibly his own father.
This second installment of the Project Exorcism series starts out fast and doesn’t slow down. The repressed feelings that the two protagonists have for each other is reflected in the explosive end of the space ship in the meteor shower. The reader knows that Bradi and Marisa are meant from each other from the beginning, and that there is something more that a little bit wrong with her fiancé Peter. His escape from the ship seems a little suspicious, as does the mechanical problems with Bradi and Marisa’s POD. The action makes for an exciting and enjoyable story with incredibly hot and even tender love scenes between the main characters. This story stands on it’s own very well, though it is always helpful to read what has gone before. It is nice to see how Lorelei and Sevan’s relationship has grown, and it will be interesting to see what happens to Nina, Jordan, and Christian in the future. The weres, vampires, and other magic people and their society are very interesting and entertaining and I look forward to reading more about them.
