| Tory Wayne is perfectly happy with her life when she finds an old ring at a
flea market; she goes against her nature and buys it. Six months later she
doesn't quite understand why she keeps getting mail addressed to a Victoria
MacCallum. Right first name wrong last name. When she leaves her shop one day and
runs into a very large man she is startled. She is even more startled when he
tells her his name is Conner MacCallum and that he is there to collect his
wife - who just happens to be her. She gets very frightened and thinks he has
lost his mind. When he tries to convince her that she should not be afraid of
him, she's not buying it.
He comes to the shop the next day and realizes that he has frightened her so badly that he will have to gain her trust. They make an agreement that he will court her for the next three weeks, and if she hasn't changed her mind that he will leave. This time when they are together she gets flashes of memories of a past a long time ago, of a guy named Michael and a woman named Magda and bombs going off. She has never told anyone of her ability to see and feel things that happen around her. The last person who knew about her abilities used them against her. Conner does a wonderful job courting Victoria. Sending her wonderful gifts of chocolate, a kitten, balloons and all kinds of other surprises. When someone tries to kidnap Tory, Conner helps keep her safe and begins to realize that Tory has a gift. He finally gets her to agree to go to Scotland for Christmas and asks her to marry him. They get married and at the wedding Tory starts sensing some evil stalking them. When on their honeymoon Tory's best friend, the woman who was her maid of honor at her wedding, is killed. She left instructions for Tory and Conner to be the guardians of her daughter. When they fly home to make arrangements to adopt Michelle and try and find out who killed Sharon. Conner also starts having trouble at his company and has to put in lots of time there. When they finally get Michelle home and start to settle down an old enemy from the past confronts them, one they had to deal with in their first life together. Will they be able to survive this time and be able to live their life together? This is a beautiful story of love reborn; that love always finds a way for two people who aren't meant to be together to be together, even if it is two lifetimes later. That when some people say forever they do anything to get that forever. Watching Tory grow strong, accept her gift and learn to use it is wonderful. The support that Conner gives Tory is beautiful and the attraction between the two is intense. The suspense of figuring out who their enemy is, and realizing that party was related to them in a past life will surprise and shock you.
