After being shot by an unknown someone, Shaw Cassidy is sent to a mountain retreat to recuperate so she can recover memories that have been lost to her. When she crosses paths with a mysterious man from her past, Shaw doesn't know whether she can trust him. But when she can't remember, what else can she do?

Cole Marinos is having a hard time steering clear of the suspect he's supposed to obtain evidence from, especially when she's the one woman he's never gotten over. So when their paths cross, Cole does the one thing he was told not to -- he gets close to her to gain her trust.

This novel made for a very interesting read with its well-written plot and dialogue. The plot was intense from the start and kept getting more intense as the story progressed. It drew me in from the beginning with Shaw's shooting, and the re-acquaintance of Cole and Shaw although she didn't remember him. As for the dialogue, it was intriguing because of Shaw's memory lose and her determination to remember. The sex scenes set the pages alight, and had me cheering for Shaw to remember because Cole was an important part of her life. What I liked about Shaw was that she put her faith in Cole even when she didn't know who she could trust. While with Cole, I liked that he broke protocol in an effort to help Shaw regain her memories.

Overall, Ms. DeStafano has created a great story in this one and has given me yet another author whose books to look out for.
