In Love's Tender Fury, Marnie Hammer wishes that she could write books that are serious literary works. She also wishes that her best friend, Joey, would love her more than a friend. She has two problems making those wishes come true: She is already a famous romance author; no one wants her "serious" work. Joey is gay, and has no intention of being anything else, including her lover. When she meets Tony and her wishes start to come true, she finds out that the saying "be careful what you wish for" is real!

Initially, Marnie seemed to be permanently unhappy, and it took some interesting twists and turns to make her see that her life wasn't all that bad. I liked this story because while she came off as sounding like a spoiled brat in the beginning, she gradually changes throughout the story to a likeable person.

In Be Careful What You Wish For Sandra wished her life was more exciting. She's a massage therapist that is barely scraping by in her business. When she decides to take a job giving a massage to a seedy lawyer, she knows it can't get worse. Then a man named Sean walks in to kill her client, and things get a lot more exciting than she ever imagined, especially when he decides to take her with him…

This story was hot! I loved the interaction between Sandra and Sean, and they worked so well together as a couple. The beginning of the relationship was just like you would think, neither one of them trusting the other. How they begin to love and trust each other is a fascinating journey that kept me hooked.

In Threads of Faith, Marisa secretly longs to be with someone that will love and want her despite her problems. She was born and raised in isolation, and shunned as a witch. She thinks she will never find the kind of love that is what she needs. Then Conlon shows up at her door, looking for a love potion. The price of the potion may be more than she can handle…

The love scenes in this book burned up the pages. Marisa has to struggle to believe that someone would want her. She also has to learn how to trust her senses and Conlon. Conlon has to earn Marisa's trust and understand her fears, as well as soothe her battered heart. These two people seemed to have instant chemistry, making the story a joy to read.

All three of these short stories could have stood on by themselves. They held me to the book, and the characters came alive through the writing. All three authors did an outstanding job of making each story feel like a full book. I highly recommend this series of short stories they were amazing!
