Jonathan Oakes decides to leave his law practice and go back to the farm and rent out the fields. After his unfaithful wife was killed in a car accident, he decides to forget women. He’s in search for someone to overlook the remodeling of his house because not only does he not trust contractors, he no longer trust anyone.

Breezy has a stinging past she wishes to forget. Of late it has been quite painful and now as overseeing repairs on an old farm, she sees a new start for her. After she meets the owner of the farm and sees the surroundings, she is intrigued by everything. Jonathan returns home hoping for a new start. He too, has painful memoirs he wishes to forget. Giving up his profitable law firm, he hopes by going back to the old homestead that he can find some peace in his life. One thing he never imagined was finding a woman like Breezy to float into his life. Now the two find that the old home is not the only thing in need of refurbishing as they face many obstacles together.

For Keeps is a story that hooks the reader and takes them sailing until the last page. Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. The delightful characters and refreshing conversation make a warm romance that leaves a feel good feeling. Ms. McCann weaves a captivating read of loss and love that make this book a keeper. She puts you inside the characters head and you feel all their believable sensations. For Keeps is a remarkable read with well-developed characters and a storyline that hits the core of the heart.
