We first met Ryan in his best friend's book Deep in the Woods when he goes to play with Dave and his submissive Sophie. Each book can be read as a stand-alone but reading both books makes for a nice read. With Dave and Sophie coming for a visit in this book it makes it more interesting when you know the history between them and Ryan.

Fortune is an interesting read and pulled me in right from the begining. At the start Kat was not one of my favorite characters but as the story unfolded we learn just why she acts the way she does and in turn she becomes a woman I learned to like. Ryan is very domineering and a great man who is willing to fight for what he loves. The two make a great couple and through out the story I was hoping that they would finally find their happy ever after. As the book progressed I enjoyed seeing Kat bloom along with their relationship.

This book is an intense read. Ryan not only enjoys being a Dom but he also enjoys inflicting a bit of pain and Kat enjoys receiving it. So along with Shibari (Japanese rope Bondage) there is spanking and caning. If you are easily offended than this maybe a book you want to pass up. More importantly the trust and love that Kat and Ryan develop for each other shines through everything that they do. Both Ryan and Kat must trust one another with not only their bodies but also their hearts and seeing each of them fight for that love was a nice read.
