| Eden has gone out with the girls dressed in a slinky dress that’s molded to her like a second skin and pink suede stiletto heeled boots. Michael, her live-in boyfriend asked her not to go, to stay home and have a night in with him. How will he feel when she gets home?
Jenna Bayley-Burke finds a way to convey a lot of ideas in this tale. Was Eden just out for a night with the girls or was she looking for more, sort of comparison shopping? The author gives us a description of her outfit that shows she was definitely dressed to show off her assets! Was she looking for love because she didn’t have it at home or not secure with what she has at home? Or was she just falling victim to the teasing of her friends? Whatever her night was like, we’re just told that she decides she has everything she wants at home. She’s penned as feeling relieved to be home, not envying the worry her girlfriends who found ‘love’ had to cope with. Seems like Michael is written as a man who’s comfortable with himself. He tells her that he’s got faith in her, knows she’ll come home to him. Doesn’t sound like ego, sounds like he’s letting her fly free to make her own decision. This is one of those tales that seems light hearted on the surface but the author has put some oomph into it with the depth behind the simple story. This is a really good read.
