Spending four days in a tropical paradise with Jack is a dream come true. For years, David lived a lie and denied his attraction to Jack. Now that they're together in an isolated Caribbean resort, however, he finally sheds his denial and admits what he really wants -- to be Jack's lover.

Jack is more than willing to introduce David to the life he has always fantasized about. But what will happen when they leave the resort? Will David sacrifice everything to start a new life with Jack? Or will he go back to his old ways and risk losing the best friend he ever had?

Although this is a theme that I love, friends who find themselves in love with one another, Four Days with Jack didn't please me much. The blame for this was the end. He seemed a bit rushed and unbelievable. Despite having a sympathetic character, I didn't feel engaged by the story. In fact, I have mixed feelings about this book. It is not entirely bad but also not good. The character of David was well described. The author managed to pass to the reader the inner conflict of David because he felt attracted by his childhood friend. I sympathize with the character. Despite his confusion, David doesn't let his fear paralyze him and goes after what he wants, which in this case is Jack. Jack is openly gay and comfortable with his sexuality. He has suffered the consequences of his sexual orientation and because of that and his promise at the beginning of the book to David, I think his attitude at the end was hard to accept.
