| Louise Hart was the only daughter of overprotective parents. She wanted desperately to show them she was able to become independent and after a string of unsuccessful jobs she was happy to take the offer from Mr. Parker who owned Hawk's Riding Stables at Mackinaw Island a lovely tourist town. Little did she know that her employer, who had arranged everything, had passed away two weeks earlier and the stables were now in the ownership of his only son Trent, who had no knowledge of horses and interest in keeping the stables.
Louise saw there was potential in the stable and made a deal with Trent Parker. If she could prove the stables could show a profit in four weeks he would agree not to sell the place. Trent Parker agreed to the deal only as the days went by it seemed he still felt the place was hopeless. But he had another interest now, Louise. Soon the stable was beginning to show promise until a series of accidents started to occur, accidents that made Trent wonder who was trying to either destroy the stable or Louise. An interesting twist in the plot makes for moving and romantic ending. But the road to get there is well worth he read. A story that will touch your heart and make you want to know the real reason why the elder Mr. Parker really kept the stables a secret all these years.
