| Melissa Miller has a great job doing what she loves, a wonderful dog, Augie,
and a fiancé that understands just how important her work is. In fact, her
fiancé, Jackson Tobin, is her partner in an upscale subdivision named Fox
Hollow. Melissa is the architect of the custom built homes and Jackson sells
them. Only one problem, her fiancé is not what he appears to be. He
disappears one day and fails to leave a number, a place where he will be, and
his cell phone has been disconnected. His secretary is also missing.
Melissa is worried enough about Jackson to hire a private investigator to
find her missing fiancé. Rees McAllister is on the job.
With the help of friends, Rees and Melissa decipher exactly what Jackson and his secretary were up to. What they find out can get Melissa put in jail or worse, killed. Rees and Melissa begin to feel an attraction for each other that becomes hard to deny. Will they be able to save Melissa from Jackson's betrayal? Will they find out why is Jackson trying to hurt Melissa? Ms. McKinmer keeps the tension high. The attraction is obvious between Melissa and Rees, but their "working relationship" rules out any immediate involvement with each other. Ms. McKinmer created a wonderful story full of twists and turns with a lot of heart. Augie, the Keeshond, was a brilliant addition to a great story. Terrific writing, with a great plot, and smartly- drawn characters. A highly recommended read!
