| When a local fraternity house has a series of murder, Detective Ron Hewlett has his hands full. One thing about being a cop all these years, he has tried to encourage the morals of mankind. After the murders, and his search in trying to locate the killer, it appears no one wishes to offer any information, which changes his ideas on many things. Things shift when he meets Samantha. Not only is she lovely, but he feels a certain spark when they are together. Samantha MacKenzie, a professor at NYU, is determined to make it in a man’s world. When Ron begins his investigation, she has the pleasure of meeting him. In no time heat slowly sizzles between the two, but she harbors a secret that she keeps at bay if she wishes to continue seeing Ron. It appears that every time Ron thinks he has something with the investigation, everyone wants to keep their lips sealed. When things slowly start to unwind, Samantha believes the secret she holds may not only cost their relationship but their lives, as time slowly starts to run out.
Fraternity is loaded in suspense and intrigue in this page-turner. Ron and Samantha are believable characters that pull the reader into a thrilling mystery while creating some stirring heat between them. Who says a cop can’t take time out for a pretty girl? Lori Derby Bingley takes her audience on an intense ride trying to locate a killer. She crafts a great plot that sends chills down the spine. The well-rounded secondary characters lend great creativity to the storyline. Revenge can indeed be deadly if one is not careful. This engaging read, gripping with action, shouldn’t be missed. Ms. Bingley is a great storyteller when it comes to writing suspense with a twist.
