Erica and Elena are twins. Erica has always been the good, steady, hardworking twin, and Elena the screw-up. Erica has always bailed Elena out(sometimes literally) of any mess that she finds herself in, but this time the problem might be too big for even Erica to solve. Elena wants Erica to save her from the local vampires. She claims that they want her for a feeder; a ready blood supply for the local bloodsuckers. Erica searches for her in the local vampire bars, almost becoming a meal herself. She is saved by Max Hart, a local vampire investigator. Max agrees to help her find her sister, but she must pose as his feeder, a prospect that doesn't seem too horrible now. The problem is, Erica has attracted more than just Max's attention and soon she might be in even more trouble than her twin.

Fresh Blood started out fast and really didn't slow down until the end of the story. The author has captured Erica's anxiety, fear, and desperation and incorporated it into the plot. Erica is a very appealing character, pretty, responsible and often taken advantage of by her sister. Max is her knight protector in fact, and is very hot also. Their relationship develops into a very steamy one with extremely well written love scenes. This is an author that I will definitely read more of, as this is the best vampire suspense romance tale I have read in a long time.
