The McCurrys of Montana are looking for a teacher for their one room local school. So far no one lasts for more than a few weeks. Sara Robbins is looking for a place where she can be herself without constantly falling short of other people's expectations. All she has to do is keep the contract and teach for a year. She knows she can do that. What she doesn't know is whether or not she can resist falling in love with the handsome Daniel McCurry.

Claire Sanders builds a great story of a woman learning to shine when she's allowed to just be who she is. Sara Robbins is like a rose withering on the vine when she gets to Montana. Her character and personality come alive and grow under the pen of Ms. Sanders as she writes of her acceptance by the McCurrys and the town of Winter Lodge.

All of the players in this wonderfully written book including Tom and Audrey, Edna Spears, Sara's Dad and Daniel are the kind of people who make life a little better for those around them. They're a lot of fun, hard working, dedicated people who would be great to know. Audrey is funny as heck as she wants to play matchmaker for Daniel and Sara. Seems they don't need a lot of help. The two are just made for each other as soon as Sara can get over her fear of being rejected again.

Buck, the seventeen year old with a crush on Sara, is handled well. Ah, young love! Adam, the son of the town drunk, doesn't have much going for him until Sara and the McCurrys take him under their wings and help him learn to be a child again. Wayne Reele, Adam's Dad is a nasty man and deserves what he gets in the end.

There's just a wealth of good things to say about this book. I highly recommend it as an uplifting tale of love and good people all wrapped into a great storyline.
