| Agent Kendall Fraiser's superiors force her to take two weeks vacation and have a psych evaluation after her partner, Dan, is killed by friendly fire. The shooter was Agent Zane Vincent. He was firing at one of the men the DEA agents were trying to arrest and Dan ran in front of the bullet. Kendall chose to go to Corazon del Mar for her two weeks, but so does Vincent. He's a very attractive man but Kendall blames him, even hates him to a certain extent. It's easier to blame him than herself. But she has to face the truth that he wasn't at fault for her partner's death. Once her hatred is gone, she can't help but want to seduce Vincent and fulfill her fantasies.
I loved how Vincent and Kendall both teased each other, sometimes not even meaning to. And I loved how they slowly began verbally bantering; it showed their growing relationship, and to some extent, their growing trust of each other. They were perfect together in every way that counts in a romance, and in an erotic romance. Vincent's sense of humor was engaging and made me grin often. And, since this is an erotic romance, I have to admit that the love scenes were hot! Vincent was a charming, open, lusty hero that would devastate the female population if he were real. I haven't read a book like this one in a long time, one that has both an incredibly sexy hero, a lot of humor, and good romance. Though short, Friendly Fire is definitely worth several rereads.
