| FrostFire brings you into the world of the Kyndred. The Kyndred are genetically enhanced and can do many things that mere people can't do. In this story, we meet Lilah and Walker. Lilah is a Kyndred who is able to read and control animals' minds. She finds herself handcuffed to Walker, a veteran of the Afghan war who seems to be dying. As the two join forces they end up in a remote town fighting for their lives.
I was pulled into this story right from the start. I really enjoyed the way that Lilah's love and understanding help to heal Walker. Walker has his own past he must deal with as well as what the two are facing in the present. As with all of Lynn Viehl's heroes, he's a tortured soul who has the reader hoping that he finds the love he truly deserves. The bond that grows between Lilah and Walker is a great read. As their ordeal continues it looks as if they must decide if they will trust one another for it seems evil lurks in those that Lilah thinks to trust. I enjoyed seeing the Darkyn appear in this book as well keeping both "species" intertwined in this series. I am a big fan of Lynn Viehl and her writing. This book did not disappoint. I will mention that this is book three in the Kyndred series, which follows the Darkyn series. The Kyndred were introduced in the Darkyn series and it may be hard to read these out of order. I would advise to read at least the first two in the Kyndred series first so that you are not confused. FrostFire has not only a great romance but also a good amount of action as well making this a book that should not be missed.
