While Reese's life suddenly turns weird and scary, she doesn't bail out or whine. She wades right into the fight, giving as good as she gets. She's gutsy and I loved that. Dagan is dark, dangerous, and domineering. But Reese doesn't let him get away with much and sparks fly as the two have some heated arguments over his overbearing attitude on her protection. Secondary characters, I loved them all, create balance and amusement. Fight/action scenes add some tense and thrilling moments. The love scenes were arousing and incredibly sexy. The dialogue was well-written and flowed smoothly. It had me laughing on more than one occasion.

This is a superb and thoroughly entertaining start to what looks to be an awesome series. It grabbed me and held me from the first to last page. In fact, I was really sorry I'd finished and there wasn't another in the series waiting for me. I can't wait for the next book. I suspect I'll be rereading The Fury long before the second in the series is published – it's that good. Well done Sloan for giving me a few hours of exciting and exhilarating reading.
