Gabe Blackhawk was a good man, a warrior to his people. Yet there were times the memories of his daily work would haunt him. Gabe was a detective in the Boise police, as well as their SWAT Team leader. Gabe was raised in the tradition of his tribe, Blackfoot, and taught to live in harmony with all living things. Having to kill someone in the line of duty wasn't something he took lightly, today was no exception. As he looked around at the shattered glass around the building that only minutes ago was the scene of his men going in and apprehending a gunman who had already taken two lives. He had no choice in his action to fire but it would still haunt his spirit in the days and months to come.

Kally Voker was hot on the trail of the abortion activist Dane Riely. He had already killed people in Oakland and he was on the move again, this time to Boise. He knew that Kally was on his trail and suspected that she might follow him to Boise. As she was talking to her co-agent and friend Jo Clarin who was sidelined while awaiting the birth of her first child, Jo hinted that she should have Gabe Blackhawk help her. Gabe knew the territory and though Jo didn't tell Kally, Gabe wasn't hard on the eyes. No, he was just about perfect. Waiting at the airport Kally wasn't expecting someone as handsome as Gabe. The moment he looked at her with those translucent green eyes of his Kally was turned into a silly school girl who couldn't even remember her own name. She was in love and it only was the start of the adventure and passion to come.
