| Morgana Monthill has been more mother than aunt to her young niece Katie since she was born. When Frank Robbins sets his sights on a cottage by the sea owned by Morgana and her sister, Katie becomes his pawn in a vicious game. Gareth Townsend has become involved when Amy, Katie's mother, seeks his help to find Frank. The attraction between Morgana and Gareth builds through proximity and his abilities as a mage to help Morgana deal with the unscrupulous Frank. The difference between them may be insurmountable in Morgana's mind so Gareth has his work cut out for him.
Jean Hart Stewart pens another magnificent tale of this family of mages and their potential mates. The characters are crafted well for believability, courage, and that quality that is hard to name that draws us to them. The bad guys are vicious and deserve everything they may get as a result of their actions. Gareth never lets a handicap slow him down in pursuit of Morgana or the bad guys. His sense of honor and what's right may give him pause. As a mage he could hurry the tale and his love affair along but it's much more fun to savor it as we watch and see what this author can do. Dialogue and colorful scenarios we feel we're a part of, or would like to be, make this fast reading as we turn the pages to find out what happens next. Ms. Hart Stewart continues to thrill me with this series of books. I never grow tired of them as each one is fresh and new with a little overlap as the family line continues. This is highly recommended for anyone who loves a great story.
