The only connection to the possibility of the Clan Mackinnon being true is a diary filled with tales of the curse that has fallen on them. In order to break this curse special words must be recited. When Ericka frees Gavin Mackinnon, her whole world changes. Ericka has never believed in curses, ghosts and gargoyles until weird happenings start occuring at the castle. Gavin is confined to being stone by day and a man by night. By working together, Ericka and Gavin fight to break the curse on him and his family. There is an unknown enemy determined to kill the Clan Mackinnon. Ericka and Gavin must accept the fact that they are soul mates and realize they cannot fail or they will lose not only their love, but the rest of his clan.
Tara Nina has crafted an facinating story mixing the paranormal world with that of a traditional Scotish male. The two main characters of Ericka and Gavin go well together despite the difference in times and ages between them. Ericka is a modern woman thrown into this mysterious realm and handles it all with ease. Gavin's attempts to understand the modern world around him and seek revenge on those who have cursed him are both amusing and understandable. The sensual aspects of the relationship of Ericka and Gavin is written in a very sexy way. The secondary characters like Ericka's sassy, funny Aunt May and a ghost sister determined to protect her brothers are all very detailed and add depth to the story. Anyone looking for a hard to put down read will enjoy this spicy, mesmerizing story as much as I did.
