| Garron Greely has it all. A job he loves, a family that loves him, and a lover who wants to take that ultimate step, a commitment ceremony. But not everyone in town is happy with the idea of two men pledging their love and they go to great lengths to make their disapproval known. When an unforgivable act leaves Sonny bleeding in the road, will their love be able to withstand the trauma?
Garron’s Gift is the second book in Carol Lynne’s series that focuses on the Good Brothers, known as the Good-Time Boys. Garron and Sonny are the couple that we met in Sonny’s Salvation but this story is told from Garron’s perspective. Garron was a favorite of mine in the previous offering and I grew to love him even more in Garron’s Gift. The feelings that the two men have for each other are tender and pluck at the heartstrings of even the most hardened reader. I cried and laughed my way through the trials and tribulations that the couple faced and found myself liking Sonny even more in the end than I had in Sonny’s Salvation. This story really must be read in conjunction with Sonny’s Salvation for the full effect to be appreciated. Garron’s Gift was not only a gift for his love, Sonny, but a gift to us, the readers. While the book contains the unrealistic plot device of a gay wedding in a public place after several incidents of cruel anti homosexual acts, when in reality I would think that the characters wouldn't want to throw their relationship in the face of the instigator, I was able to overlook that for the action that took place afterwards. The emotional upheavals and enthralling plot line kept me engaged until the very last page. I was so sad when this book ended but thrilled knowing that there are more books involving this fascinating family. The Good-Time Boys are everything that you need for a good time!
