In return for a summer spent helping his elderly Aunt Gertrude clean out a long lifetime’s accumulation in her home, Warren is given her genie-style lamp to take to college with him. Expecting to spend the Christmas holidays off-campus with his lover, Bobby, Warren instead is dumped before the holiday break and spends New Year’s Eve alone. To distract himself from his loneliness and rejection, he picks up the genie lamp and hears a recorded message! What eventually appears is a very sexy, gorgeous, Mediterranean-style male genie, which piques Warren’s interest and lust immediately. Only allowed three wishes, Warren at first considers wishing to keep the genie, Selim; but then realizes how cruel it would be to force someone to be with him for life. More magical yet is Warren’s discovery that Selim is as magnetized to him as he himself is to the gorgeous genie. Now—if only he can figure a way to keep Selim with him…

Lorne Rodman conjures up a hot little tale here and delivers a really hunky genie. Warren and Selim are well-developed characters. It is intriguing to watch the process of Warren’s increasing maturity. The m/m intimacy is present and explicit but tasteful and should not be offensive to most readers. I look forward to more stories from this talented author.
