Riley and Nick are best friends and roommates. Riley is scheduled to be married to Lily. Lily is Riley's world and he really loves his bride. But he also feels attracted to Nick. Lily knows it and has no problem with that. When Lily and Riley return from their honeymoon, Lily decides to give Riley what he wants most, namely, Nick. The night is a success but feelings come into play.

I already knew the writer, Tere Michaels, for her other books and when I saw that she had a release I grabbed the chance to review this book. I truly loved it. Three to Get Ready maintains the same depth and the same quality in writing that I enjoyed in the Faith, Love, & Devotion series. The story and its characters are so captivating that I read the whole book at once. At the beginning of the story, Riley and Lily are a couple already established with its own dynamics. Lily is the dominant partner and totally devoted to satisfying any of Riley's needs. And when she realizes that Riley's desire for Nick is mutual, she plots a way to make it reality. Lily is a strong and confident character that sparked my sympathy. She loves Riley and knows that she is also loved by him. And because of that, she felt threatened by the desire that Riley feels for Nick. Riley is insecure and needs a strong partner by his side. And in Lily, he found the ideal partner. And even though he is quite thankful for having Lily in his life, he still does want something more, or better, someone else (Nick).

And finally Nick. Nick has two failed marriages and now does not want commitment. When he has a need, he goes to a club to satisfy it. Although he likes Riley, he never did act on it. And with Riley engaged and now married, he feels like he lost his chance. Because of his background, Nick is afraid of surrendering to the feelings he feels for Lily and Riley and he's his own worst enemy. Three to Get Ready is an engaging love story. But it also a history of overcoming obstacles to finally find its happy ending, even if your happy ending is not conventional according to today's society.
