Tabatha Gray is a psychiatrist with an unusual sideline; she’s a necromancer with the ability to raise the dead and ask them questions. When Tabatha moves home to start a private practice she is faced with knowing she may be able to help Detective Derek Bainbridge solve a string of brutal child murders but at what cost to her privacy? Detective Bainbridge is instantly attracted to the beautiful doctor but can a no-nonsense detective believe in the paranormal ability to raise the dead? Or can he afford not to believe her is she can help his case?

I loved this story. The mix of a psychiatrist with a necromancer makes for a very unique and intriguing woman. Tabatha is strong, beautiful, and determined to do what she can to stop the murders of these innocent children. Derek is surprisingly quick to recognize that Tabatha is telling the truth and may be able to really help him stop the murderer. Now if they can just keep their hands to themselves long enough to work on the crime instead of each other’s bodies… The fact that Tabatha may also be able to help Derek find the answer to the 20-year old murder of his fiancée is a bonus but one that may enable Derek to finally find closure. I also liked the secondary characters that come into the tale and become part of Tabatha’s life and help both Tabitha and Derek in a number of ways. This story is fast-paced as the more Tabatha and Derek learn about the murder cases the more their lives and Tabatha’s friend’s lives are threatened. I enjoyed this story immensely and I loved the ending which definitely points to a follow up story. I can’t wait to see what will happen in a sequel!
