Susannah Cravens lost her beloved husband six years ago to cancer. Burying herself in her work, the years passed in a lonely numbing blur. Ready to take the first step back into the realm of the living, Susannah is put in touch with Madame Evangeline, a miracle matchmaker, who promises to give Susannah a magical experience. Ten years ago, Remy Charles was divorced by his neglected wife for being a ghost of a husband. She and her voodoo priestess friend made sure he literally played that role. Cursed to a specter's existence, Remy can only be made corporeal by the touch of a woman who loves him.

Deena Remiel's books always leave me feeling upbeat and positive. In Ghost of a Chance, Deena's sweetness and optimism are clearly evident. The main characters have both suffered heartbreaking tragedies, though in vastly different manners. Yet, neither one has given in and quit. They are both still looking for love and fulfillment. Using her remarkable creativity, Deena Remiel devises an incredibly unique and erotic way for Susannah and Remy to experience passion while Remy is still in his ghostly state. One of my favorite things about this story is the fact that the main characters both rescue each other. There is no dominance or submission, they both play an equally strong part in the future of their relationship. This short story actually accomplishes quite a bit in it's limited time and is a great little treat for a lazy evening or afternoon.
