I have heard from a lot of readers who are looking for a good paranormal series, but find the gritty language of say, The Black Dagger series, or the graphic sexuality of The Breed series, a bit too strong for their taste. This is the perfect series for those readers. In this book, there are engaging and familiar characters with a well thought out and very entertaining story. It is also not the least bit offensive in either language or sexual content.

The hero, Gideon is a true southern gentleman in both thought and action, and his friends, Zacke, Miles, and Hawke (all characters from the previous books) are just as gallant as he. Katheryne, being from the 15th century, is a lady to her very fingertips. You can't help but smile and be charmed by the warmth and tenderness these two characters exhibit. The loves scenes are gently crafted while still being titillating. These are both characters you would feel comfortable introducing to your parents.

The traditional battle of good versus evil, is of course a major part of the story. The villain, was a dastardly French vampire named Marcel, who added a nice touch of spice to what could have been an overly sweet story. While this is not my usual fare, the author did a superb job of peaking my interest enough to follow this series.
