The Gift of Surrender by D.L. Warner was an exciting adventure filled with intrigue and passion. Sarianna and Niku are strong characters with kindness for others and intelligence they work together to root out the evil trying to invade their kingdom. They are young and are tested with people that assume they will make mistakes. Their enemies definitely underestimate the two. There is the excitement of battle that is described so that the scenes come to life for the reader. There is the mystical psychic ability of Niku’s mother’s people, the Surrimetsa, that I found fascinating. There is also the intrigue of those that are plotting against them that will keep the reader enthralled. The romance is sweet based on a truly loving relationship where passion is present. Very sensual, there is a strong chemistry between the two that goes deeper than just the physical. This is a very creative storyline that is fully developed and very enjoyable. It leaves the reader with a desire to learn more about the Light of Arinpera and the Surrimetsa and I hope to soon read a sequel about these two characters. It is a story that emotionally involves the reader and takes them on a journey where for a little while the reader exists in this magical world where truth and kindness reigns against evil. I highly recommend The Gift of Surrender by D.L. Warner as an exciting fantasy adventure filled with passion and intrigue.
