David Windsor as President of the United States has been living his life under a microscope. Now that he and his husband, Shane Thompson, are entering civilian life things might get simpler. Not likely. As former president and friend to the current president, Victoria Wilson, David is called on to solve a problem that could start WW III if not resolved diplomatically.

John Simpson has penned an exceptional suspense filled also with the romance between two men who could easily be heroes in anyone's book. Both would do anything for the country they love and for one another. They've also been able to start proceedings to adopt a homeless gay youth. Young Jack is quite a character in his own right as he charms himself into our hearts and the lives of the other players. And the two Marys, one four-legged and one human, are also welcome additions to the tale.

This whole series is well worth reading. David isn't what we typically expect of a president. Perhaps he's the kind of man we'd like to have as he faces down evil and bargains with those who sometimes call themselves our friends. I couldn't help but smile at his solution to the problem in the middle east. Shane and David may not seem like the stereotypical gay men the world wants to think about. They're like the pinnacle of what people could be if allowed to meet their potential. Not everyone may agree with their politics but those who do will be thrilled by this tale as told by Simpson.
