| Alec Roth is tired of having the dreams that continue to float into his life about the horrible book trying to seduce him. The book represented such sins of Gluttony that left Alec with dreams of unimaginable pleasures of women, and sometimes men in such twisted heated pleasures of ecstasy. Once he had let the book lead him into the pleasures only to have suffered a triple by-pass. Letting go of the food and wine business, he opts to buy a vineyard and start over, starting his life anew with no book before him. He may be one of the top twenty-five richest men in the world, but he wants nothing to do with the money he considers dirty. He seeks a loan to start his vineyard. Lillian Montgomery is a lawyer with a good firm. They wish her to take on the special case of Alec to help get his vineyard. She will for a price. She wants her freedom to be able to choose her own clients. They agreed giving her thirty days. Alec has taken a keen interest in Lillian and the others know it. They want her to use it to her advantage, and if she doesn’t, they have other plans for her, deal or no deal. Lillian intends to prove she will prevail with her conquest to help Alec Roth. When the book becomes an intrusion into Alec and Lillian’s life, he seeks a way to stop the madness to keep Lillian and their happiness intact.
I loved the interaction between Alec and Lillian in Deadly Sins: Gluttony. Their heated chemistry and body-language filters the story with excitement. I loved the strength that Lillian projects in her work and her life. I could almost feel the emotions that Alec felt in his daily struggles with the dreams and the book. He is determined to make it on his own with no more interference with the book. Elizabeth Jewell and Belinda Richmond craft a clever tale that sinks its teeth into the reader and doesn’t let go until the final page. This is one fiery, chilling read that shouldn’t be missed.
