Korey O’Caha was only a little lad when he picked some wild flowers for the goddess Gigi and fell in love. It took seven hundred years for them to find one another again. Her uncle Norval, a rogue god, had imprisoned her in the otherworld where time stood still after she refused to let him destroy the immortal children of the druids. Parth a druid sorcerer who loved her saved her from the otherworld by taking on dark powers. Being her savior didn’t win him any brownie points. He lost her anyway for cooperating with the dark side.

Mandy M. Roth has a gift for blending razor sharp wit throughout her storyline to keep it fast moving and exciting. There are some nasty villains trying to wreak havoc on the world by destroying those who protect the good people in it. The heroes have a way of dealing with them that makes us adore them. They don’t pull any punches in their battles even if it does take them a long time to get around to loving their mates. Gigi and Korey take four years yearning and fantasizing about one another before they have the courage to act on their feelings. That just gives them more appeal because the author shares their fantasies with us and we just know it’s going to be even better when they finally get together.

Coyle and Deri have their own story in book one but provide a lot of color in this one too. Korey and Gigi are erotic, heroic and loveable as heck as they struggle with their fears and feelings just as many of us do in the early stages of a relationship. Some well intentioned parental interference by the goddess Carys bodes well for having this series continue for a long time. I’ve come to adore druid tales and hope Ms. Roth has many more to come. Her writing style is excellent and this story one of those that left me smiling long after that last page made me sigh that it was over too soon.
