| Joanna Robinson is determined to beat three time winner Miles McClintock in a local race to benefit their favorite charity. She's playing for a halfway house for wayward teens, can only imagine what he might be playing for. They're neck and neck throughout until they get to a phase neither can win without help.
Penny Dawn has written a fun tale of two people who can't keep their hands and other parts of their anatomy off each other. Along the way we hear some heartbreaking tales of some of the kids Joanna works with. To say that spurs her on even more than the chance to beat Miles would be a toss up since in the next moment her thoughts return to past episodes of sex with the competition. The author gives Miles a few momentary flashes of humanity. Seems he must be just taking a breather before taking the next opportunity to leer, touch, taste or otherwise distract Joanna. Seems he has a turtle in his pocket--no, really, a turtle--knowing that's the only thing she fears. Will a lowly turtle keep her from finishing the race for the reward she knows will be at the end for herself and the kids? How Ms. Dawn keeps her sanity writing such hot stuff is beyond me. I know I couldn't do it. That makes this tale even more fun as I marvel at how she can keep the storyline and her lustful couple on track throughout the book!
