| Dr. Celia Weston is fascinated by the genetically engineered clones she cares for, the UME, who have been designed to live and work underwater in the space station’s manmade ocean. Although it is forbidden, her fantasies linger on their beautiful sculpted bodies as they flow through the space station ocean. When Del Mar appears, badly injured, her desires go from fantasy to reality, as they break the most important rule in the Biotech book.
I loved this book. Right away I was swept up in Ms. Gardner’s descriptions of the undersea world in the biodome, among the stars. I could imagine swimming through the cool water, with the beautiful colors all around me. The main characters, Celia and Del, are so in love, I couldn’t stand the thought that they would likely be separated. Imagine two people from such different worlds making it work, especially when one can and usually does breathe underwater. The plot moves the story along, spiced with the fantastic, sensual lovemaking scenes between the main characters. I was rooting for Del’s people to escape their institutional slavery before the imminent collapse of their ocean world, while hoping that there would be some possible way for Del and Celia to be together. I highly recommend this story to anyone who enjoys great erotic romance with an adventurous side.
