Rachel Mitchell thought life in New York as a photographer for Vogue and a boyfriend was a fairytale come true. Yet when her mother dies in a car accident, she realizes that family is what matters most. She soon sees the love for her ex-boyfriend Cole that she'd left behind was resurfacing.

Cole had high hopes for them both. However, he knew Rachel had to live her dream. Yet when they met again, feelings resurfaced delighting them both. He tried to understand Rachel's reaction when he spoke of love. He hoped time would heal his heart, that they realize what should have been all along.

The novel is a Christian, family oriented, which gives the novel a homey feeling of love and friendship and family values. Rachel gives off a chic-flick flavor of love and betrayal and going home again. There are a lot of family oriented descriptions throughout most of the novel. On the other hand, there are also a few weak spots that beg to be examined more closely. However, the thought process leads you to reflect on your own life as you know it and make you wonder if maybe something could have been done differently.

Cole knows what he wants, yet he loves Rachel enough to let her live her life, even if it's without him in it. Even though he is a home bound, down to earth guy, I would have liked to see him be a little more resilient and find a way to make her come back to him. Also I would have liked to have given a better visual of what he looks like.

The novel needs more action and lively peaks to help it move forward, besides the mother's death and the problems with her boyfriend it would have been nice to see a few more action oriented moments.
