| Aliyah Carver knew one day her shape-shifting into a cheetah would put her in danger. Caught as a cheetah, she was caged and released to become a hunted beast. She escaped from the riled bunch of hunters into the arms of the law where her life changed forever.
The day Sheriff Duncan Kennedy of Elk Ridge, Colorado found out about poachers roaming around his back land, he went on the hunt. He got the surprise of his life on that day when he discovered a wounded cheetah, alert to the stance between them. He laid his coat upon the ground then dragged her to his truck. On the way there, they were sidetracked by a poacher. With all her strength Aliyah jumped, mauled and chased the poacher. Unable to contact the veterinarian, Duncan brought the cheetah to his house and locked her in the mud room. After a good shower, he peeped in and found the surprise of his life. The novel is riveting, explicit and explosive. I really liked the way the cheetah transformed into a human and back. I felt like I was living the change along with the cheetah. The challenges they go through really brought them grippingly closer. The sexual scenes start early on, and you can feel Aliyah go from meek to minx as the story advances. This helps in lending realism to the feline aspect of the novel. You get a good sense of Aliyah. However, besides the description of Duncan's physique, there really isn't much to go on. The scenes are very explicit and written.
