| Barbara Lane had known very little about her father until he died and left her a gold mine. She had little money, nothing to hold her, so she decided to travel west to the mine. Her plans were to check it out, sell it, and move on. She was very surprised when, after spending the day cleaning the shack, she was joined in the cabin by a man who turned out to be her late father’s partner, Vincent Waverly.
The mine work was hard, the money was scarce, and the tension between the partners was volatile. The small cabin felt even smaller when the new partners had to share a bed. Vince had shared with his late partner, but the result was not the same. Ms Missy Lyons has written a very interesting novella which, though shorter in length, definitely did not skimp on the sensual scenes or incidents of occurrence. The sex was hot and the main characters, as well as the supporting people, were well-described. The situations were steaming and not for the faint of heart. However, lest you think that was all the story had going for it, let me quickly downplay that idea. The storyline was well thought out, well executed, and had several poignant scenes. The plot was extremely well thought out and kept this from being just another gold-dust story. I enjoyed the story very much and recommend it to any who like historical and/or erotic stories.
