The hardest part, she thought, was standing in front of her guests and telling them there would be no wedding. Not only had Ed jilted Jennifer, but his entire family was a no-show. Jennifer had no idea what happened but in her devastation she decided to go on their pre-arranged honeymoon alone. She boarded the plane in her wedding dress. A little over-dressed for the flight, she had at least removed her veil.

Jared slid into Ed’s reserved seat but it took awhile for Jennifer to recognize him. They were high school sweethearts but hadn’t seen each other in fourteen years. He had never gotten over her and he took a chance on jumping on the plane and going wherever she would be staying. Maybe this would give him a chance to rekindle their friendship.

Ms. Kathryn Gerbert has written a fast-paced, emotional book about a second chance at love. There were several secondary cast members but they were barely mentioned. The entire book surrounded this main couple and her parents. She created characters that were believable and appealing. The actions taken by the main characters were a little over-the-top, in my opinion. However, I loved the determination she demonstrated in Jared.

Gerbert endeared her storyline to me by the evidence of confusion and revenge she exhibited in the jilted bride. There was comedic relief as well as poignant situations. There’s definitely something for everyone in this book. I recommend it.
