| Dr. Gray Kennebeck had a problem; he had been suspended from his hospital practice because of a drug discrepancy. Tommie Balford also had a problem; she needed a team doctor for her business, The Ultimately Extreme Wrestling (UEW). The biggest obstacle to solving both their problems was that Tommie always visually checked all new employees of UEW before she would allow them to wrestle and Gray somehow ended up in that group of people. When he couldn't understand why she wanted to see him without his pants, she went ahead and unbelted, unzipped and dropped his pants for him. When he said he was the new doctor, she thought that was his wrestling persona.
The attraction between the two was bittersweet. They both had baggage which was not shared with each other; the further the relationship developed, the more they learned about each other. The magnetism was something neither expected to last; each considered their liaison temporary. Even though the two became more connected daily, the way they dealt with uncertainties was to ignore them. Unfortunately this did not help either to solve his/her problems. Gray had a court date pending, but he was definitely covering for someone; Tommie had started this business to entice her father to spend time with her. Both circumstances did nothing to enhance their association.
Gray's Anatomy is a study of how incredibly opposites can attract and prosper together. Both Gray and Tommie had past issues which affected their present attachments. I loved this book; there were no dull spaces and the secondary characters were all strong. Each of the characters stood alone, but none overshadowed the love interests. I especially loved the fact that the situations were not "cookie cutter" and circumstances did not automatically work out. This made the story believable and, at times, breathtaking. I highly recommend this book!
