| Athena Lakis has been learning the hotelier trade at the side of one of the biggest and best, Lucas Giardetti. He's even helping her make a bid on a resort on Crete that she can run with his name backing the enterprise while she gets it started. Alexandros Strintzaris is the competition. A jet setting playboy on one hand, a serious businessman on the other, Alexandros may be the one man who can make her forget her rule against romantic relationships with Greeks.
Aleka Nakis crafts a wonderful story set mostly in Greece as Athena helps her best friend Heather prepare for her marriage to Alexandros' brother. The flavor of the land comes through in shining color as the romance blossoms between the two against Athena's better judgment. From sunset at the Acropolis to a walk around the volcano they travel an exotic path toward love under this author's pen. Thrown together by circumstances during the week leading up to the wedding every argument Athena has against Greek men seems to fall by the wayside. The author builds the lives each of the main characters in a way that makes them loveable and memorable. Each person in the extended Strintzaris' clan is a shining example of the best of loving families. From the youngest granddaughter to the feisty grandmother each play a part in helping the couple make the right choices. True love rarely comes easily and this lstory has its tense moments too. We hang on for that happy ending that we all adore hoping something will help them work out their problems. This is full of great people, scenery, and dialogue that makes it hard to put down.
