Michaela and Electra were two angels being punished for their prank of getting two people lost in the mountains. Well, Electra pulled the prank and Michaela told her not to do it and now Michaela was guilty by being by her side. The Archangel Michael was furious with them both and no amount of pleading by Gabriel could lessen their punishment. They were both banished to earth to live as mortals! Electra, being more knowledgeable about mortal ways did not think the punishment was too bad, but Michaela only knew what she had read about mortals in her angel training. She had always wanted to know what emotions felt like and now she had her chance.

Gabriel had told them little, given them female forms, clothes, and driver's licenses, though Michaela had never even driven a car! Electra was to work in a clinic where she would learn about pain and suffering, while Michaela would seek out Ty Brock to help him feel good about himself again and to see that he was still a good man, regardless of his past sins. But how was she supposed to do that when she had never even seen a mortal?

Ty Brock had served time in jail for cattle rustling and gambling, which was a mortal sin in the town of Unegi, Arizona, a ranching town. Since his release he had not set foot in the town because he was ashamed. He had betrayed his friend's trust and no amount of the sheriff, or his best friend saying that he was forgiven, would ease his guilt. He faced the fact that he was no good and now the sheriff pulled up in his yard with a woman, saying that she was sent to help him. For crying out loud, she could not be five feet tall and was a dainty little thing! What he advertised for was a ranch hand, so how could she possibly be any use to him? But man, oh man, was she gorgeous with her thick curly hair and porcelain skin. Hmm, well there was one place he could use her-- in his bed!

Leanne Karella writes a wonderful and brilliant story in her novel: Grounded, and it was truly a joy to read as I laughed about an angel not knowing anything about mortals--not even knowing when she was hungry! I giggled hysterically when she tried to clean the house and I roared with laughter when she discovered mud. Ms. Karella's novel: Grounded should be in every reader's library! Is there a sequel in the works?
