| Heather Green works for the Manhattan Museum of Antiquities, and her specialty is Celtic Art. Gryphon O’ Connor is a Druid Warrior and is a protector for his order. He has orders from the Sorceress to retrieve three rune stones that were stolen from their people. These rune stones if deciphered will allow a person the ability to shape-shift. He knows that the stones are probably at the museum, but since it’s such a large place he decides he needs help.
He goes to Heather and explains that the stones were stolen and that he needs to get them back before they can be used for evil. Heather isn’t sure why she believes Gryphon but she finds herself believing him, especially when unexplained deaths start happening around the museum. Gryphon can’t believe how strong and trustworthy Heather is, he has been taught all of his life that anyone outside of the order is not worthy of being trusted or loved. He finds himself falling in love with Heather, but knows that their love can never be for he has a secret that even his own people don’t accept about him. Then there is the law that if anyone outside of the order finds out about them, they must die. Heather works hard to get the stones and help Gryphon overcome the evil from the one that learns how to use the stones, but does she have enough strength to risk everything to be with the one she loves. For if Heather wants to be with Gryphon she will have to risk everything, and be braver and stronger than she has had to be before. Ms. Sams’ first book in the order is a magical and very sweet. The love and trust that develops between Heather and Gryphon is beautiful. It makes everyone believe in magic and the power and belief in love and trust.
