| Betrayed by her business partner, Maria’s sucked into a situation beyond her control all because of her expertise as a financial advisor. She’s been attacked and shot at. Scared, she runs for her life. Choosing a small town that she’d picked out from a map. There she finds an element of peace until she meets the local sheriff, Jake Colder. Who sets her pulse racing with desire.
Jake Colder has been alone for a long time on his ranch since his ex wife left him and his none year-old son. He’s had plenty of offers but none stir his senses like Marie. Jake knows Maria is hiding from something and frightened. Offering her a job as his live in housekeeper and caretaker of his son, he vows to protect her. He's hoping that she will trust him with her secrets. Maria and Jake together create a combustible force. This force adds to a tense, breathless ride that makes Guardian Angel such an excellent novel. I loved all the characters both primary and secondary and one in particular gives this story just a little bit of something extra special that made it, for me, all the more enjoyable. The dialogue and interaction between the characters is smooth and fun at times. It’s a wickedly sinful in places, especially Lise’s description of Jake. She had me drooling at the imagery. There is plenty of tension that grips the reader throughout the story, making for an engrossing entertaining suspense. And well, the loves scenes smolder with intensity. Guardian Angel is first class novel that definitely worth reading. It also shows that Lise Fuller’s adventure into erotic romance has paid off. I’ve read her previous novels and this is as good, just hotter with a good solid plot and superb characterization.
