This is the fourth book in this series and, as usual, each book has gotten better than the last. This was no exception. I'm constantly amazed at the scenarios Ms. Robinson portrays through her characters. This book explored the lives of Snake, aka Scott Andrew Quinter, and Summer Austin. The diversity of the “wives” of the Quinter brothers continues through this offering.

Snake Quinter was forced to marry Summer while he was in a coma -- unethical, maybe, but he did nod his head in the affirmative. When he awoke from his almost -- deathbed, he found that not only did he have a wife, but she had a little sister and brother and an ornery mule, Maisy, in tow. She was half Indian. The last thing Snake wanted was a wife. He didn't have time for one. He was busy inventing new techniques to increase his farming capabilities.

Summer hated to tie Snake to herself and her family. She didn't feel she had any choice. Her father was a mean drunk who had gambled her off in a card game. Another man was trying to claim victory. She refused his aggressions and ran toward Snake because of his gentle kindness.

Ms. Lauri Robinson has a very interesting approach to storytelling. I like how she projected her characters and grabbed my attention at page one. I never lost that interest. The supporting cast were vitally important in telling this story. While there were myriad people, it was not hard to keep them all apart. The guardian angel throughout the storyline was just a light touch of the paranormal.

The sensuality presented in this book was emotionally-charged, but vague. That makes it suitable for almost all to read. The ending held several surprises. Maybe there will be at least one more book in the series?

I highly recommend this book for an amazing read. Great job, Ms. Robinson!
