Presley is a protector by nature. But after a failed bodyguard assignment, he finds himself leery of helping anymore. Amber is on the run from the man she thought she knew and cared for. When her car breaks down on the highway, in the middle a pouring rain no less, she immediately goes on the defense as the headlights slow. Can she trust the cowboy who rescues her to keep her safe and risk her heart?

What a charming tale. Amber is a woman you can admire for her grit and determination. It is great to see her written as a woman that is not broken by what she has been through. Presley presents a strong male in the typical cowboy "awe shucks, ma’am" way. His patience is endearing as he tries to sooth Amber into trusting him. I do wish the author had spent more time on the antagonist; that would have given the story more grit and given the reader someone to cheer against. The pace of the story is steady and easily draws the reader in. This is a good book to curl up with.
