Dani is a talented sculptor that is well known for her work. Even though she is a great artist in her own right, she likes to acquire art from other artists, for inspiration and because she loves the world of art. She's recently acquired a new piece of sculpture, and is very excited about getting it home. It is a large statue of a gargoyle, with the detail that is so exact that it makes it feel almost real. She has a strange attraction to it, and sometimes she is convinced that it is truly alive. Grellix has been captured in stone as a guardian for over 600 years. He's longed for a bond mate to make him feel complete. When Dani brings him into his studio, he starts to think that she might be the one. Will she be able to handle his love and give him the gift of life?

Guardians 1: Heart of Stone has a lot going for it. Dani is a driven artist, who is confused by her desire for a statue. Grellix is trying hard to be patient and wait for Dani to understand what he needs. While the story had a lot of potential, I had a hard time relating to the relationship between the two. It didn't seem like there was a lot of real interaction between the two until near the end. There is a lot of sex in this book, it starts from the beginning and is non-stop. It is a very short story, but I didn't feel like it needed to be longer. I was definitely entertained by the storyline, it kept me fully engaged in the book, and it's definitely a story that is worth a look.
