Feeling the sting of his ugly divorce, Max sells his half of the family business to his brother Reed and moves to Saudi Arabia to work. While working abroad, Reed hires Nicole as his right hand man. While the receptionist was out on vacation, Max calls in and gets Nicole instead on the phone. Nicole finds the voice on the other end of the phone line, matches up to the picture that she saw on Reed's desk. From their initial meeting on the phone, Max and Nicole never knew what hit them.

The story progress slowly and never rushes. Ms. James has created a story about forgiveness and love and the bond between brothers and sisters. Nicole's younger sisters, Natalie and Katie and Max's brother Reed figure into the story but never intrude in the romance of Max and Nicole. In fact, I think that the relationships with their siblings only enhance their romance. Ms. James has written a book that relies on the characters themselves and the plot surrounding them. While there is sexual tension between Max and Nicole, the scenes are more implied and sensual in nature. I like that Max and Nicole didn't jump into bed with each other and that while the tension building between them was good, Ms. James decided not have them jump each other any chance that they got.

I would highly recommend Guilty as Charged for anyone, and yes this book can be shared with your grandmother, that wants a story about forgiveness, finding true love and being true to yourself. I look forward to reading Natalie's story next.
