He took off after the funeral and only returned after a year, hoping to get some closure. He had been having erotic dreams about Bree, and the ghost of his dead wife encouraging his feelings for Bree. The ghost of Alyssa was also visiting Bree, encouraging her to pursue Colby. The love Colby and Bree have for Alyssa made them fight their feelings for each, and it just might take more than Alyssa’s ghost to get Colby and Bree together.
Shiloh Walker does an excellent job with this story. She immediately engages your emotions, and I found myself with tears streaming down my face right off the bat. Her characters are likable, and have traits many of us can easily relate to. The death of Alyssa is heart wrenching and Colby’s reaction is so believable. Bree shows just how true of a friend she is to both Alyssa and Colby during Colby’s absence. Bree’s character is extremely strong and the author proves that by her dedication to Alyssa even after her death. We all should have a great friend like Bree. I really enjoyed how Bree and Colby communicated, lots of time without words. It showed just how suited for each other they were and how well they knew each other. The sex scenes were very emotional and sensual, again showing the depth of their feelings for each other. Overall, Guilty Needs is an excellent story – one that showcases the power of friendship and love.
