Josh Stone is not a criminal but rather a professional photographer. After two bozos capture him and he is able to get away, he finds himself staring at a .38 revolver. Emma Dawson just happened to be walking Maddy, her beagle when she happens upon Josh. Now she holds the gun at Josh until she gets answers. She wants to call the police but Josh refuses. He has a roll of film with a cop and another guy tossing a dead man into a river. He explains he was out hiking just snapping pictures, when he just happened to see the scene. It is one of those cases being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Emma isn’t sure if his story is that convincing but it garners enough authenticity for her to offer him help. At least Maddy seems to take up right off with Josh. After Emma takes him home to give him nourishment, it appears sparks rise between them, yet neither is sure if the other can really be trusted. When Emma discovers the real truth, it isn’t long before she feels her life may be in jeopardy; too, as she believes it now may be her turn to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Gunpoint is an action-packed story that stands on its own. Loaded with passion and suspense that keeps the reader on the edge-of-the-seat, this spellbinding read is wonderfully created. Sage Burnett pens a story with believable characters that make the story flow smoothly. She fashions Josh and Emma into likeable people that this reader enjoyed sharing time. The sexual passion she instills in the scenes, seasons well between them. This fantastic tale takes the hook, line and sinker, making it one commanding read.
