| Fifteen-year-old Traci has a big crush on Brad Davidson. But he's not the guy sending her e-mails and calling her cell. At first she thinks it's a hoax, but then she realizes it really is Corky Evans. He was her best friend and her first boyfriend. And he drowned two yeas ago in Crawford Lake.
The ghost isn't the only thing derailing Traci's romance. Her mother Susan is the kind the other kids think is cool. But Traci just wishes she'd grow up. Susan bashed into Ted Davidson's car while she was retrieving a nail file. Ted is Brad's father. Susan thinks Ted's a jerk. Ted thinks the redhead who hit him is a ditz. Traci and Brad think it's likely both were at fault. Traci and her best friend Christine try to figure out how to handle Corky's shenanigans. He's still a thirteen-year-old and he's getting kind of good at ghostly hijinks. But the father who abandoned Corky and his mother five years ago is back. Corky wants to protect his mom from the father he has never forgiven. And he's pretty protective of Traci as well. Traci still feels great affection for Corky, but he's spooking her by hanging around when she's alone with Brad. She agrees to help her ghostly buddy find out the truth about his father. This is a fun supernatural read for teens. The romance is light and the friendships realistic. Kelley writes a current and sweet tale of early romance.
