| It's bad enough to be a Vyusher (werewolf), but Kore is cursed by a Xoraxai chovihani (witch) woman for trying to claim her daughter as his own. The blood-curse will carry on to his sons, and only his grandson will have a chance to break the curse of being blood-bound to the women of the Xoraxai's family, yet unable to do anything but long for them from a distance.
Decades later, Alissa O'Malley begins the worst day of her life. A car accident, leading to a ticket that the other driver (Hot Sex Barbie) weasels out of, then on to her supervisor assigning her to the Psych Ward, despite the fact that she's not trained for it. The woman has it in for her after Alissa pointed out one of her errors. But it only gets worse as the night wears on... Gypsy Moon showcases Ms. Anderson's developed writing skills in paranormal romance very, very well. When I first read her sci-fi books, they were pretty good, but can't match how enjoyable her latest are. Erotic, emotionally intense, and very much driven by the heroine, Gypsy Moon (as well as her recent books) had me reading through it without intending to. Alissa had a fairly reasonable, unreasonable reaction to what began happening to her. Her insistence that things remain the same was stubborn and a little bit foolish given the circumstances, but I didn't feel it was stupid. The author gave Alissa's emotions enough strength that I couldn't feel that way. There was a particularly good scene where Alissa argues with a security guard that gave an excellent sense of predatory satisfaction and aggression. Even the romance was heart-felt and gave me just a hint of weepiness. Gypsy Moon isn't a paranormal that will have any reader thinking, "Oh, no. ANOTHER one?!"
