Ariel is one of the first, and it's looking like he might soon be the last of his kind. He's been running from the woman he's loved for a long time now, and now he's decided to face up to what he must do. Adira and he go back to the beginning, and he has long denied himself the pleasure of her presence. He's here to do a mission to save mankind, and nothing else. With Adira so close, sometimes he looses that focus, and he doesn't want to worry about that anymore. But this time Adira isn't willing to let it go.

Adira has been chasing Ariel for hundreds of years. They have a long history together, and she loves him with everything she is. She doesn't understand him, why he rejects her and the feelings that they could share. This time she is determined that one way or the other they will finally confront what they have been avoiding, their feelings for each other.

Adira is a great character. She and Ariel are the last of their kind that was sent to earth to rid the world of the evil ones. The others of their kind have all either been killed in battle or have voluntarily gone to the other side with Ariel's help. For thousands of years she has put up with Ariel's unwillingness to enjoy himself with her, and she's about had enough. Now that they are the only two left, she wants to finally confront what is going on between them and get some closure. Ariel is a hard person to feel sorry for, because he's pretty much brought a lot of his problems on himself in his stubbornness and zeal. He has some pretty creative ways to keep himself pure by discipline and pain, but his idea of sacrifice is self defeating. I liked both of the characters, but the relationship didn't always click with me as being really hot. I mean, how could he resist her for so long if that was the case? The relationship between Ariel and Adira starts to heat up; the story gets better and better. This is one story that starts out a little slow and builds up to a great ending, with the characters becoming more and more likeable. I thought that Dangerous Cravings: Hair of the Dog was a great part of this series, and if you enjoyed the rest of them you sure don't want to miss this one.
